Belle | 2011 Senior

I’ve finally ventured into the realm of senior portraits (or pictures, if you prefer to be less formal about the phraseology). The first officially unofficial shoot was with Belle this past week, and though it was fairly impromptu, we got some great images from the time we photographed. There wasn’t a specific game plan to the shoot, but I think it worked to our advantage in this case.

After climbing up a snowy hill, we started shooting in a small park. We noticed the field in the park on our way to what was going to be our first location, and we couldn’t help but stop. I mean, who wouldn’t want to take pictures in a large, semi-poetic field of mostly amber-colored grass? I say that because the field didn’t really look like much once we were up close, but when we started photographing, it was hard to leave after seeing some of the images.

From our small, random field of improvisation, we headed to Kirkwood. Though we probably didn’t walk more than a half a mile after we parked, we discovered a number of great spots to photograph. Our favorite images were taken in a small alley directly in front of where we parked. We had to be a bit careful with all the gum plastered to the brick walls, but it was nothing to really worry about.

The rest of our time shooting involved a security guard making funny faces at us and something like a very large painting. You’d have to hear the security guard story firsthand, though. It can’t be explained properly without a reenactment.

Take a look below at a few favorite images from the shoot with Belle:
